This South Australian vineyard is located one kilometre from the village of Mundulla, 35 kilometres north-east of Padthaway and 15 kilometres south-east of Bordertown in South Australia, and is part of the Limestone Coast wine area that includes the famous Coonawarra region.
The area around Mundulla has been a rich and successful cereal and wool growing area since the 1880’s and with potatoes, lucerne and small seed crops that benefit from the underground water resources of the area. The Mundulla property has a large water right for irrigation of the vineyard and because of the specific location of the vineyard on the aquifer the water quality is better than surrounding properties.
The 267 hectare vineyard was established in 1999/2000 and is wholly planted to red varieties including shiraz, cabernet, merlot and petit verdot.
Number of hectares planted:
Cabernet Sauvignon
Shiraz
Merlot

The Tanunda Hill Vineyard was established in 1999 and 2000 and covers more than 320 hectares and is planted with 9 different varieties of grapes. It is located on the western slope of the Barossa Valley on Gomersal Road and is not far from the historic township of Tanunda. The land the vineyard is planted on was historically used for grain and sheep farming and the original historical stone-built cottages still exist on the property. They provide a beautiful backdrop to the majestic gum trees also still on the vineyard.
The Barossa Valley is arguably the most famous wine region in Australia and the area has been growing grapes since 1847. Most of Australia’s best-known wineries are based in the Barossa, including Penfolds, Orlando, Yalumba and many small family-owned businesses.
The Barossa produces multi award-winning red wines and the Tanunda Hill Vineyard is no exception – our 2014 Tanunda Hill Barossa Shiraz won the 2016 Decanter World Wine Awards Platinum Best in Show award in London.
